Food Truck

Artistiek Keuken is a Dutch food truck that primarily serves a large variety of street food, rooted in the flavors and food traditions of the Netherlands. From artisan kroketten and loaded friet with house-made sauces to modern twists on classics like broodjes, poffertjes, and herring-inspired bites, the truck mixes familiar Dutch comfort food with creative international touches. Using local produce, Dutch cheeses, and regionally sourced meats, Artistiek Keuken brings an artful, contemporary spin to the street-food scene.

For this project, the idea was to explore various nations around the world, explore their cultures, and reflect those cultures in food truck Packaging, such as Bags, trays, cups, etc. The main purpose of this project was to design with cultures that we knew nothing about prior. Every student had to do extensive research in every culture just to help each other out critique.

PROCESS

A COMPLICATED PROCESS

Initially, the Netherlands sounded like an interesting place to explore. Because of that, I decided to choose it as a focus point for my project. As I did some deep research into the culture of the Netherlands, I learned that art was a big part of its culture. Because of this, I decided that art itself would be an interesting theme to focus on. As I continued researching, I discovered how deeply creativity is woven into everyday Dutch life—from the country’s historic Golden Age painters to its modern design movements and vibrant street-art scenes. Most of their art used primary colors, and from there, I used an art palette paired with a fork and knife to sell the fork and knife theme.
